Creating 2D dimensions with upper and lower tolerances of same sign

Q: I want to create a 2D dimension with 2 negative Tolerance values. But it does not work.

A: Qualify does not allow creating a tolerance zone on one side of the nominal. To accomplish this, you will need to change the nominal value of the dimension and then specify an upper and lower tolerance on either side of the new nominal.


Sharpening NURBS corners and edges

Q. – The Nurbs surface rounds over my sharp edges. How can I get it to stop doing this?

A. - After Constructing Grids in Shape phase, go under the NURBS main menu item and select Specify Sharp Lines. Pick the lines you want to appear as sharpened. Now the edges and corners will be sharpened as specified by the user.


Dual Processor support

Q. – Do I need a dual processor computer to run Geomagic software?

A. – Dual CPU’s are not necessary to run Geomagic software. However, many functions do take advantage as some functions are multi-threaded. But it is not a requirement. A marked improvement will be easily noticed having dual processors available in both speed and performance.

*Studio 3.x and older don’t take advantage of multi-processor support whether installed or not.
*Win95 & 98 do not recognize a dual processor setup even if two are installed.
